Next, visit Jakarta Cathedral, a building constructed in 1891 in the gothic style. Marvel at the high tower with high windows decorated with glass paintings. Inside the church are 3 altars that together form a semi-circle. It also has a beautiful old altar that reflects sound like a conch shell. Continue to Istiqlal Mosque, the largest mosque in Southeast Asia and the sixth-largest mosque in the world. Located in the city center, almost opposite the National Cathedral, the Mosque is also meant to be a symbol of peace and religious tolerance. Finally, visit the old town of Batavia, the former center of Dutch rule when colonizing Indonesia.
