Krakatoa (or by its international name Krakatoa or Rakata) is a volcanic island that is still active and is located in Rajabasa District, South Lampung Regency, precisely in the waters of the Sunda Strait, between the islands of Java and Sumatra. This name is also attached to a volcanic peak there (Mount Krakatau). Mount Krakatoa, also known as Krakatoa, is one of the most famous volcanoes in the world. Located in the Sunda Strait, Indonesia, this mountain has attracted the attention of explorers, scientists and tourists for years. Apart from its stunning natural beauty, Krakatoa also has a very interesting history related to the spectacular eruption in 1883 which became one of the most devastating natural disasters in history. Mount Krakatau consists of a group of volcanic islands consisting of Rakata Island, Panjang Island, Sertung Island, and Anak Krakatau Island, the last of which was formed after a powerful eruption in 1883. Currently, Anak Krakatau is an active volcanic crater that continues to experience volcanic activity. Around 1930, a landmass was formed which was named Child Krakatau. This new land continues to grow in width and height due to volcanic activity. Now, its height has reached 450 meters with a diameter of about three kilometers.
